"Un texte inédit de Joy Division retrouvé sur un dance-floor acide.
Le parisien Hardrock Striker est un malade. Le genre d'archéologue à tendance maniaco-dépressive capable de creuser très profond pour dénicher en face B - et rééditer fissa sur son label Skylax - quelques perles ensevelies de la house, du funk ou de l'electro. On savait que les sous-sols de Detroit ou Chicago n'avait aucun secret pour lui, on s'aperçoit qu'il connait aussi parfaitement les tréfonds de Manchester, d'où il a excavé ce texte inédit que Ian Curtis n'avait pas eu le temps d'enregistrer avec Joy Division. Control sera d'ailleurs le titre du film, en préparation, consacré à la vie du chanteur épileptique et tout mort. Pour ce maxi turbulent, les manies et obsessions (rock et electro primitive) de Hardrock Striker se mêlent de manière cocasse pour la mise en son de ce texte, caverneux et anguleux, le chant est ici contrarié par un groove paillard, hommage à peine déguisé à la bacchanale Madchester - New Order et A guy called gerald en tête. Des remixes se chargent d'ajouter à la confusion, proposant à Ian Curtis un bouillonnant bain d'acide (les cinglés de Music For Freaks) ou une virée au Studio 54 de la préhistoire new-yorkaise, époque bénie où rock et disco rêvaient de faire des enfants (Les bambocheurs d'In Flagranti). The Parisian Hardrock Striker is a crazy man. The kind of archaeologist with a manic-depressive tendency able to dig very deep to find some obscure b side - and republish fissa on his Skylax label - a few pearls buried from house, funk or electro. We knew that the basements from Detroit or Chicago had no secrets for him, we realize that he also knows perfectly the depths of Manchester, from where he excavated those unpublished lyrics that Ian Curtis had not had time to record with Joy Division. Control will also be the title of the movie, in the making, dedicated to the life of the epileptic singer and all dead. For this turbulent 12 inch, the manias and obsessions (rock and primitive electro) of Hardrock Striker are mixed in a funny way for the sound of this text, cavernous and angular, the song is here thwarted by a bawdy groove, a barely disguised tribute at the bacchanal Madchester - New Order and A guy called gerald heading. Remixes add to the confusion, offering Ian Curtis a bubbling acid bath (the nuts from Music For Freaks) or a trip to Studio 54 of New York prehistory, a blessed era where rock and disco dreamed of to make children (The

"Skylax continues to release original obscure dance classics. For their fourth release they've brought back a gem from Manchester heavyweights Joy Division. The lyrics of this track were originally written by Ian Curtis speaking about hell, isolation, alienation and obsession and underlined by the end of his relationship with his wife Deborah Curtis.
